Nederlands: Pauk geluid Timpani sound. 64 cm diameter, tuned approximately to C#. Played with a yarn mallet, directly in the center of the drum head.

Improvising on an African drum. Should be OK to cut up, sample, loop. Placed the Zoom H2n recorder below it on the floor.

This is a basic dubstep beat. It was done in reason 7. It is useful in that it shows you a good way to construct a beat. It consists of four 4-bar measures, each progressing from the previous. In this way, you can see how to write a good beat, by starting off simple and building from there. Traditional dubstep drums are very spare and sporadic with the use of symbols. I never liked drum beats until i heard dubstep !.

Recorded and processed at 24bit 48khz using a rode nt1-a condenser microphone. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.
